Why I chose my topic: I chose my topic to be about Steve Jobs, the creator of Apple. In school, we researched different topics that related to the National History Day theme. Jobs life and success interested me and I became curious to learn more on this subject. I know Steve Jobs is a current topic that other students, as well as adults, would be interested to learn more about.
How I conducted my research: I conducted my research by finding primary and secondary sources. I found helpful, reliable sources on databases such as a newspaper archive, world book online, etc. I also went to the public library to take my research even farther and find books on Steve Jobs. I found a biography about Jobs that describes each of the important people in Steve’s Life. Pictures are also important to help the reader visualize Steve’s life.
How I created my project: I decided for my project to do an individual website. I used the website maker Weebly. Weebly is very user-friendly and has many different designs and layouts for your website. You can pick your own color scheme, add your own pictures, and type papers on Weebly. It has so many options and I can be very creative on my project.
How my project relates to the NHD theme: This year’s National History Day theme is a turning point in history. My topic, Steve jobs, relates to this year’s theme. Before Apple, there were many different telephones and devices, but Steve created a turning point in history when his inventions were created. People could now have portable laptops, small devices that allow you to listen to music at any time, a tablet that can communicate with people and go on the internet, and even a phone that has music, internet, messaging, calling, etc. Steve Jobs inventions spread around the world. His products are popular and now more people communicate with Apple products. In conclusion, Steve Jobs caused a turning point in history.
